Avoid labels and pigeonholing seems to be the work of all designers who want to overstep the line of survival. So when I know stories of brands that reinvent themselves and play with the borders, I can only applaud and support them in the new venture. That is the case Textile Laboratory, which launched on Friday 18 their library The Landscape in Bazaar The Passion, his first job in the world of apparel. Do you add?
The Birth of The Textile Laboratory Landscape
The brand specializes in accessories, Textile Laboratory Dew and Carolina Peters Fuente, foray into the apparel design with The Landscape, a collection of unique pieces inspired by landscape painting in the artist that captures and takes possession of its environment, images they carry. "The Landscape is a woman, a traveler who collects images to create their own landscapes," me explain.
Rocío Peters gives us details on how did this new direction:
" In one of my trips to the capital in search of materials for making my accessories, I noticed a scrap of textile industry: the famous fabric samples, those pieces that show ranges of colors and textures. I found large boxes full of them, mainly for upholstery.
Seeing them, I quickly realized what might out of these pieces of little treasure. I was around for a long time the image of the character he wanted to build. I jumped head to the drawer to carefully choose the pieces that I liked. The choice could not be random. Nor was the composition of the fabrics which are then built with these patches. Each fragment had to be interesting, thought and at the junction of them was to ensure that stood out for themselves and build a harmonious whole to communicate, to create an atmosphere, an image made of images . I imagined that every time someone might see it a name, evoking a feeling, a mood, a style.
So it was born 23 fabrics. Unique pieces made from pieces packed information, loaded with textures, colors, images that came together in a harmonious way to become our first foray into costume design.
Launch The launch of The Landscape will be held on Friday March 18 from 19:00 hrs. in the Passion Bazar located in Jorge Montt # 1, Cerro Concepción.
